Can just one room be rewired?
Often, but the existing circuits and protective arrangements need to be assessed first. The survey establishes whether a limited upgrade is suitable.
Will I need a new consumer unit?
That depends on its condition, capacity and protection. Any required upgrade will be explained before agreeing the work.
Will the rest of the house lose power?
Some isolation may be needed for safe working and testing. The affected areas and expected interruptions can be planned in advance.
Does a partial rewire check every circuit?
The agreed inspection and testing scope will be explained. A partial rewire is not automatically a full condition report on the whole property.
